Layan El Khatib
Assistant Under Secretary General for Educational Development
Layan El Khatib is a senior student majoring in Political Sciences and International Affairs with a minor in Conflict Analysis and Resolution. She has served as a trainer in the Lebanese American University 4th Model Arab League and as a middle school trainer in the Lebanese American University 11th Model United Nations program last year. During those two experiences, Layan served as a chair, director and rapporteur in the UNESCO committee, The Joint Defense Council and The Council of the Arab League respectively. Moreover, Layan served as a student mentor for the University Scholarship Program students in the Outreach and Civic Engagement Department (OCE) for the past two years. In May 2016, Layan served as a Logistics Coordinator in the Global Classrooms International High School Conference in New York City. Her passion for simulation programs continues as she will participate as a delegate for the first time in the Oxford Model United Nations Conference at the University of Oxford in the upcoming November. Layan takes the responsibility of the 12th Global Classrooms High School LAU Model United Nations & 7th Global Classrooms Middle School LAU Model United Nations Assistant Under Secretary General for Educational Development.
